The Dunedin Edgar Centre have set up a physical education programme for the Homeschool Community which will run weekly on Wednesday throughout term. Every week we will be introduced to a different Sport/Game. These will include sports such as Basketball, Soccer, Netball, Touch, Dodgeball and Volleyball etc.
Alongside weekly Friday visits to St Clair Salt Water Pools, we also swim regularly in the Silverstream River at Waiora on Mondays (weather permitting).
Swimming lessons also occur, at Mosgiel Pool, in block courses during the year.
Every week we get together at Waiora Scout Camp as a homeschool community.
We meet at either McKerrow/ Bridge field; where there is a large outdoor area with a toilet block, rock climbing wall, two large fields, fire pit and safe river access.
Or at the Troop Den with indoor facilities; a kitchen, heated indoor hall, large fire pit, archery field, obstacle course and lush bush tracks surrounding.
We participate in homeschool activities together such as bush foraging, fire building & cooking and much more. A special activity we like to book is use of the large outdoor water slide.
During the colder terms (2&3) we meet MOST Mondays and we book regular sessions on the GIANT water slide to compliment in terms (1&4).
